Racism and Islamophobia have been persistent issues in the United Kingdom, with historical roots and ongoing manifestations in contemporary society. The UK government has introduced measures to combat both issues, such as the Race Relations Act 1976 and the Equality Act 2010, which aim to prevent discrimination and promote equality. Despite these efforts, reports of hate crimes, especially those targeting Muslims and other minority groups, have fluctuated in response to political events, public discourse, and global tensions. Organizations such as the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Runnymede Trust work to monitor and address these issues through research, advocacy, and policy recommendations.
