The Man from Egypt
Synopsis
A bellhop at a hotel, Hughey, comes into possession of a powerful ruby known as the Eye of Ammet, a sacred artifact associated with the Egyptian god Ammett. Using the ruby, he secures an introduction to a millionaire and his daughter. However, he overlooks the fact that for every gem stolen from an Egyptian shrine, a bearded sheik takes a vow to fast, abstain from drink, and remain awake until the talisman is returned to its rightful deity and justice is served. During a dinner with the young woman, Hughey is discovered by the sheik, sparking a chase. The sheik briefly regains the ruby, but Hughey quickly reclaims it, leaving the sheik's quest for vengeance and rest far from complete.
