Synopsis

In the summer of 1931, as Germany faced economic collapse and Berlin descended into a paramilitary conflict zone, young and bold prosecutor Hans Litten (Stoppard) decided to call a high-profile witness in a trial involving Nazi thugs. Despite the danger to his own safety and contrary to the advice of those close to him, Litten compelled Adolf Hitler (Hart), a rising political figure, to appear as a witness at Berlin's central criminal court. Litten's objective was to reveal Hitler's true nature and political intentions to the German public, exposing his hypocrisy and violent ambitions in an effort to curb the Nazi Party's electoral success. Through a tense and confrontational cross-examination, Hitler was compelled to address his political views, his disdain for the law, and his desire to dismantle German democracy. For a short time, Hitler's political future appeared genuinely uncertain.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 19

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
