Synopsis
The special effects used for the Agent Smith scenes in *The Matrix Revolutions* involved a combination of motion capture technology and computer-generated imagery (CGI). Keanu Reeves, who played Neo, performed the motion capture for Agent Smith's movements, allowing the character to appear as a clone of Neo. This technique enabled the creation of multiple versions of Agent Smith in the film's climactic battle. The visual effects team, led by Weta Workshop and other collaborators, expanded on the digital work from previous *Matrix* films to realize the complex action sequences and the transformation of Agent Smith into a swarm of identical agents. The effects were designed to maintain the film's signature style of realistic, high-impact action while pushing the boundaries of digital character animation.
