The Miracle of Life
Synopsis
Cinematographer Lennart Nilsson presents the world from unique perspectives, ranging from the human body and the development of life to the insect world seen through the eyes of the insect. Part I, "The Ultimate Journey," traces the process from fertilization to the birth of a human child, including explorations of comparative embryology. "The Unknown World" delves into creatures such as fur beetles, book worms, and viruses, offering a new perspective that may change how one views a fur coat. In "The Photographer's Secrets," the technical team who developed the instruments Nilsson used explain the methods behind the cinematography—such as capturing a kiss from the inside, an opera singer's vocal cords, or a tractor from the viewpoint of an emerging worm.
