The Miracle of Saint Anthony
Synopsis
Each June, the village of Santo António de Mixões da Serra in the Valdreu region of northern Portugal celebrates its patron saint with a unique festival. On this day, local farmers bring their animals—including cows, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, and rabbits—to the church for a blessing. This long-standing tradition, passed down through generations, continues as it has for centuries, with both people and animals making their way up the mountain roads to the church square to participate in the religious event. The film portrays this tradition as a miracle.
