The New Classmate
Synopsis
In the shadow of the grand Taj Mahal lies a cluster of modest, run-down homes where Chanda, a 35-year-old domestic worker, lives with her 14-year-old daughter, Appu. Chanda dreams of a better future for her daughter through education. When Appu expresses a desire to leave school and become a maid like her mother, Chanda makes a firm decision: she will return to school herself and even enroll in the same class as her daughter.
