The Old Bachelor
Synopsis
In an Iran grappling with economic hardship, two middle-aged brothers live under the oppressive presence of their bullying father. The father, prone to outbursts and guided by chauvinistic views, drove his second wife away through his abusive behavior. He now directs his aggression primarily at his eldest son, while the younger son harbors violent fantasies about killing him. When the father rents out the upstairs apartment to a young woman with the intention of marrying her, her growing attraction to the older son gradually pushes the deeply troubled family toward a breaking point.
