The Passenger
Synopsis
Set in Moscow in 1970, the story follows Nikolai Valerievich Basov, a Soviet hero and cosmonaut, as he struggles to recover from a personal tragedy. Retreating into solitude, he isolates himself in his apartment, no longer engaging with the world as he once did. The trauma stems from a harrowing 36-hour emergency landing in the taiga, an event that left a lasting mark on his life. As people around him begin to vanish under mysterious circumstances, Basov comes to realize that the strange effects of outer space are not so easily escaped.
