The People Next Door

Gemma and Richard, a young couple expecting their first child, have recently purchased their first home and are settling into their new life. However, their peace is disrupted by constant screaming and shouting coming through the walls from the house next door. As the noises continue at all hours, Gemma begins to believe she also hears cries and smacking sounds, which she interprets as a toddler being abused. The couple has only once seen the child, but not since. Driven by a sense of moral duty, Gemma and Richard attempt to investigate what is happening next door. When social services dismiss their concerns, Gemma becomes increasingly fixated on uncovering the truth, leading her to spy on the neighbors, raising unsettling questions about who the real perpetrator might be — the neighbors, or Gemma herself.
