The People Vs. Fritz Bauer
Synopsis
Set in the late 1950s, the film portrays a Germany experiencing economic recovery but growing increasingly indifferent to the atrocities of its recent history. Fritz Bauer, however, remains resolute in his pursuit of justice for the crimes of the Third Reich. He receives a letter from Argentina from a man who believes his daughter is dating the son of Adolf Eichmann. Seeing this as a valuable lead and wary of a judiciary system compromised by lingering Nazi influence, Bauer travels to Jerusalem to seek cooperation with Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency. Such an act is considered treason, but for Bauer, it is the only way to fulfill his duty to his country.
