The Scribe
Synopsis
A comedy short produced by the Construction Safety Association of Ontario, Canada, the film illustrates proper and improper safety practices on construction sites. It marks the final professionally filmed footage of Buster Keaton, captured months before his death from lung cancer on February 1, 1966. In the film, Keaton reenacts several routines from his early career, along with some new material. One of the most notable sequences is his recreation of a gag from his 1918 film *The Bell Boy*, in which he mops a floor using only the tip of the mop, gradually and while sitting on the floor.
