The Silent House

Laura and her father Wilson travel to a remote cottage to prepare it for sale by its owner, planning to begin repairs the next morning. They spend the night there, and initially everything proceeds without incident. However, Laura begins to hear a sound coming from outside that grows louder and seems to originate from the upper floor. Wilson goes upstairs to investigate, leaving Laura alone downstairs waiting for him to return. The story is inspired by a real event that took place in the 1940s in a small Uruguayan village. *La casa muda* centers on the final seventy-eight minutes, depicting Laura's desperate attempt to escape the house unharmed while uncovering the dark secret it conceals.
