The Sleeping Saint
Synopsis
Giacomina, twelve years old, has been chosen to guard the statue of Saint Achillea for the annual procession. It should be the most beautiful day of her life, but it turns into tragedy when her best friend, Silene, is found in what appears to be a state of death, though her body is still warm. As the village celebrates what it believes to be a miracle, carrying Silene in the procession instead of the statue, Giacomina is the only one left questioning whether all is truly lost. — Marco Borromei
