The Snow Goose
Synopsis
Based on Paul Gallico's novel, *The Snow Goose*, directed by Patrick Garland, is a Golden Globe-winning drama set in the Essex salt marshes during the early years of World War II. Richard Harris portrays Philip Rhayader, a lonely and physically misshapen man who is shunned by society but possesses a deep love for life. Harris conveys Rhayader's sensitivity and compassion through his paintings and his affection for the surrounding waterfowl, without adopting an overtly bitter demeanor. Jenny Agutter plays Frith, a young girl whose innocence and naivety are central to the story; her performance earned her an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
