The Taste of Others
Synopsis
Jean-Jacques Castella, an unpolished and ultra-pragmatic industrialist, attends a performance of Racine's tragedy "Berenice" reluctantly, primarily to see his niece in a minor role. He becomes intrigued by the play's leading lady, Clara Devaux, whose face seems strangely familiar. As the performance unfolds, Castella recalls that he once employed and subsequently dismissed Devaux as an English tutor. Immediately after the show, he approaches her to arrange language lessons. Initially, Clara dismisses him, perceiving him as an ill-tempered philistine with poor taste, but Castella eventually wins her over with his charm.
