Synopsis
In September 1939, following Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland, the Soviet Union attacks Finland two months later. Finnish reservists are called to leave their homes and participate in the war. Martti and Paavo Hakala, brothers and farmers from the municipality of Kauhava in the province of Pohjanmaa/Ostrobothnia, serve together in a Finnish platoon.
