The Woman Who Buys the Local Newspaper
Synopsis
A man and a woman committed a double suicide in Kanazawa City. Shortly after the incident, Yoshiko Shiota, a woman residing in Tokyo, contacts the local newspaper in Kanazawa, expressing her desire to read a novel serialized in the paper by Ryuji Sugimoto. This raises several questions: How did Yoshiko know the novel was being serialized in the newspaper? Why does she want to start reading it from the middle of the story? And what is the real article she is interested in? Unable to resist, Sugimoto begins his own investigation into Yoshiko, only to uncover increasingly astonishing facts as he digs deeper.
