Throat Notes

Tasmania is home to a variety of backyard wildlife, each with its own unique behaviors and habits. Among the most commonly spotted are the eastern grey kangaroo, often seen grazing in open fields at dawn or dusk; the agile wallaby, which prefers forested areas and is known for its quick movements; and the Tasmanian devil, a nocturnal carnivore that can sometimes be observed scavenging in suburban gardens. Native birds such as the crimson rosella and the noisy miner are frequent visitors to bird feeders, while the eastern barred bandicoot, a small burrowing mammal, may be seen foraging for insects in the undergrowth. The common ringtail possum is another familiar sight, often climbing trees or moving along fences in search of food. These animals contribute to the rich biodiversity of Tasmania and can often be encountered in residential areas, especially in regions with nearby natural habitats.
