Times and Winds
Synopsis
In a small, impoverished village perched on high rocky mountains, the inhabitants are simple, diligent people who struggle against harsh natural conditions, earning their livelihood from the land and a few livestock. Fathers consistently favor one of their sons, while mothers dominate their daughters. Ömer, the imam’s son, secretly wishes for his father’s death; realizing that wishful thinking yields no results, he begins to seek childish methods to kill him. Yakup falls in love with his teacher and, after seeing his father spying on her, also dreams of killing his father, similarly to Ömer. Yıldız studies while attempting to manage the household chores imposed by her mother, and she learns, with irritation, about the hidden dynamics between men and women.
