Synopsis
The *Titanic* was regarded as a masterpiece of modern merchant shipbuilding at the start of the 20th century. The documentary *Titanic* explores the history of the massive transatlantic liner. Using a mix of historical photographs and films, graphics, computer animations, and reenactments, the film is told from the perspective of those who built the ship. This approach not only offers insight into shipbuilding practices of the time but also into the social and political conditions under which those involved in the Northern Irish shipbuilding industry were operating just before the outbreak of the First World War.
