“The Story of a Boy's Hunger”
Synopsis
Nigel Slater dreams of a career in cooking, despite his mother's limited culinary skills, which are confined to making toast. After his mother's death, tensions arise between Nigel and his father, particularly when the father remarries a woman who earns his affection with a lemon meringue pie. Nigel enrolls in culinary school, begins working at a pub, and soon finds himself in competition with his stepmother, both in the kitchen and for his father's approval.
