Synopsis

What would driving be like in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by nuclear war or a colossal comet strike? This is the question explored in this new, upbeat Top Gear DVD. The show embarks on a bold journey into a bleak future, demonstrating how to commute through the endless darkness of a nuclear winter, how to keep motorsport thrilling with only two surviving drivers, and how to endure the violent, explosive challenges of a Doomsday M.O.T. test in a world where every car is armed. Amid the nuclear destruction, the programme also examines the ultimate petrolhead's problem—what cars would you choose for a final drive if only one barrel of petrol remained on Earth? The show features large-scale explosions and impressive vehicles, offering a relaxing yet intense viewing experience. This disturbing vision of a post-nuclear world is supported by leading scientists, should viewers question its credibility.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 6

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
