Synopsis
This cartoon is essentially a stage slide show or vaudeville revue featuring a female singer who is pursued by a villain before being rescued by the Lucky Rabbit, who then wins her affection. Among the gags possibly created by Avery are scenes in which Oswald asks a lady to remove her hat because it is blocking his view, only to be blocked even more when her hair suddenly expands into a giant afro. Another gag involves the trapeze artist spinning on his swing, causing the audience's heads to spin from top to bottom. These are the inventive elements observed in the cartoon; nevertheless, *Towne Hall Follies* is worth watching for any Avery enthusiasts.
