Synopsis

Santa Claus receives a telegram from Oswald the Rabbit, informing him that the city is prepared for his Toyland Parade and that a reception will be held at the large department store. Initially in high spirits, Santa's mood turns when he discovers that moths have devoured his entire Santa suit. The situation is resolved when an elderly elf, using red paint and popcorn, quickly transforms Santa's plain blue outfit into a proper Santa suit. The parade proceeds successfully, and the reception looks set to be even more enjoyable. Attendees include Frankenstein's monster, Tarzan, Lupe Velez, Shirley Temple, Al Jolson, and Bing Crosby, all welcoming Santa. The festivities nearly go awry when Laurel and Hardy, dressed in a dragon costume, attempt to steal the chocolate cake.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 4

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
