Synopsis
This *Puppetoon* animated short film, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Subject, Cartoons, follows a young Dutch couple as their peaceful countryside is invaded by emotionless, thoughtless mechanical men and machines that destroy everything in their path. In 1997, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry, having been deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
