Synopsis
In the summer of 1933 in South Philadelphia, twelve‑year‑old Gennaro lives with his widowed mother and ailing grandfather, who sits outside clutching his last quarter—a coin he has promised to give Gennaro so that he can purchase a ticket to a newly opened movie theater. The grandfather is reluctant to part with the quarter because he has unfinished business with a woman from his past, and he asks Gennoro to act as his emissary.
