Una giornata nell'Archivio Piero Bottoni

In a room at the Cineteca di Milano, Giancarlo Consonni and Graziella Tonon examine recently digitized films that document the life and work of architect, urban planner, painter, and photographer Piero Bottoni. The film traces the couple's research through materials stored in the film library and, especially, in the archive. It portrays Bottoni as a multifaceted and socially engaged artist who devoted his life and work to the goal of infusing reality with dream and enchantment, drawing on the contributions of all the arts. Using a variety of materials—drawings, films, photographs, surveys, projects, and voices—the film illustrates the realization of Bottoni's most ambitious undertaking: the construction of Monte Stella, a mountain in Milan built from the rubble of World War II.
