Действие фильма происходит сразу после Великой Отечественной войны на территории Чехии. Германия капитулировала, но в тылах Советской Армии еще продолжают сопротивляться разрозненные фашистские отряды. Командиру разведроты старшему лейтенанту Воронкову приказано обезвредить одну из таких немецких групп. Собственных сил не хватает, поэтому Воронков обращается к соседям — казачьему соединению. Задание поначалу кажется несложным. Но рядовая погоня превращается в смертельную схватку…
