Valley Uprising
Synopsis
In the secluded campgrounds of Yosemite Valley, climbers developed a counterculture lifestyle characterized by dumpster-diving and spontaneous gatherings, which often conflicted with the conservative policies of the National Park Service. Meanwhile, on the park's towering rock faces, successive generations of climbers have continually tested the boundaries of the sport, competing for dominance on Yosemite's iconic cliffs. "Valley Uprising" chronicles this dynamic rock climbing tradition in Yosemite National Park, detailing over fifty years of efforts to overcome both the physical challenges of gravity and the regulatory constraints imposed by park authorities.
