Vanilla Flavour

Set in the final days of World War II, during the American Army's liberation of the Pilsen region in West Bohemia, this dramatic love story follows Anne, a woman living with her mother, husband, and stepchildren on a remote country farm. Her life is far from what she desires; she had previously lived with her aunt in London and only returned to Czechoslovakia to care for her orphaned sister's children. She later married their father, but finds the rural setting unfamiliar and struggles in her relationship with him. When a group of American soldiers, having strayed from their advance route, arrive at the farm, they are surprised to be greeted by a young woman who speaks fluent English. They invite her to accompany them to Pilsen as an interpreter. Anne hesitates, aware that one of the soldiers is drawn to her and that she, too, is beginning to feel affection for him. She knows the journey to Pilsen could change everything for her.
