Synopsis
Based on a true story, *Vendetta* portrays the shocking and tragic events surrounding a group of Sicilian immigrants working on the New Orleans docks in the 1890s. Following the brutal murder of the Chief of Police, much of the city's Sicilian population was arrested and questioned. Eventually, thirteen individuals were formally tried for murder, with nine going to trial. Although they were acquitted, a series of brutal lynchings demonstrated that they faced just as much danger from the city's general populace as they did from the corrupt police force.
