Synopsis
Vinnie is a bookie who has run his operation for 30 years from his bar in Brooklyn, maintaining a happy marriage and a steady life. As times change, the higher-ups in the criminal organization demand greater profits, and Vinnie finds himself expendable. He is assigned Tony, a hot-headed young man and the nephew of a local mobster, to mentor. Vinnie is instructed to train Tony in collections and instill some discipline, but he is unaware that Tony's rise will ultimately lead to his downfall. Tensions escalate when Tony begins to challenge Vinnie's authority, taking a bet from an unemployed alcoholic and insisting the bettor's wife settle the debt. As the situation worsens, Vinnie must find a way to save himself—whether or not it preserves his reputation.
