Marcelo leaves his family and moves to Mato Grosso do Sul, where he teaches himself to fly airplanes by observing pilots. One day, he answers a call from a drug dealer and uses his boss's plane to help transport the man's cargo. He is subsequently hired by the drug lord to work as a pilot for the cartel. When Marcelo is arrested by the Federal Police, he refuses to betray his gang. As a result, the cartel leader gives him a large sum of money as a bonus and asks him to leave the gang, as he is now known to the police. Marcelo uses the money to throw a party during the Carnival of Recife, posing as the son of the owner of Gol, a Brazilian airline. He attracts members of high society, including television presenter Amaury Jr. Marcelo is arrested again and sent to prison. During a prison rebellion, he uses his leadership skills to voice the prisoners' demands and help manage the situation.
