Voyager: To the Final Frontier
Synopsis
The Voyager space mission is one of the most remarkable journeys in human exploration. In 1977, NASA launched two unmanned spacecraft, marking the first time man-made objects would travel to the outer planets of the solar system: Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus. Along their journey, the Voyagers encountered space dust, radiation, and numerous discoveries that revealed the wonders of the solar system. By the end of 2012, after 35 years and 11 billion miles of travel, the spacecraft had exited the area influenced by the sun. As they continue into interstellar space, each Voyager carries a golden record attached to its side, containing a message from Earth that describes human civilization in case it is discovered by others. This is a definitive account of the most intrepid explorers in Earth's history.
