Warrior Queen

Boudica was a Celtic queen and one of history's earliest and most formidable female warriors. After the king of the Iceni, weary of constant war, accepted a treaty with the Romans in exchange for his tribe's independence, the Romans imposed oppressive taxes that impoverished the Iceni. The situation worsened when the Romans demanded slaves. Refusing to submit, the Romans, under the leadership of Emperor Nero, sought to crush the Iceni and take control of their lands. Drawing on the strength of her warriors, mystical druidic powers, and her own personal suffering, Boudica united the historically divided tribes of Briton to launch a devastating attack on Roman colonial camps. The intensity of Boudica's resistance shook the foundations of the Roman Empire and earned her a place in history as a legendary figure.
