We Have Your Husband
Synopsis
Jayne Valseca, an American-born woman living in Mexico with her husband Eduardo, the son of a renowned Mexican newspaper publisher, and their two children, enjoys a serene life on their 1,000-acre ranch near a quiet town. In the summer of 2007, their peaceful existence is shattered when Eduardo is ambushed and kidnapped by unknown assailants. As kidnapping becomes an increasingly common and profitable crime in Mexico, Jayne is forced to comply with the kidnappers' demands for millions of dollars in exchange for her husband's life. As Eduardo is subjected to starvation and torture, he begins to lose hope of reuniting with his family. Despite the grim circumstances, Jayne refuses to surrender and takes bold action by making her own demands of the kidnappers. The film is based on the true story recounted in the book *We Have Your Husband: One Woman's Terrifying Story of a Kidnapping in Mexico*.
