Welcome Mr. President

In a small mountain village lives a man with a challenging name, Giuseppe Garibaldi (one of Italy's "fathers of the fatherland"), but everyone calls him by the nickname Peppino. He enjoys fishing, the company of friends, and works at the library as a precarious employee. He is an optimistic person, even though his child accuses him of being a wannabe. One day, due to a mix-up involving politicians, an amazing thing happens: Peppino is mistakenly elected President of the Italian Republic. Pulled out of his quiet life, he must play a role for which he clearly feels unqualified, but his common sense and instinctive gestures prove surprisingly effective, except when it comes to etiquette, where he struggles. The inflexible and fascinating Deputy Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Janis Clementi, becomes increasingly anxious in her futile attempts to control the President's unpredictable behavior.
