Synopsis
This film explores the factors that led the United States to become involved in the Korean War. It includes scenes depicting the Soviet Union's efforts to expand its influence in the aftermath of World War II, including its opposition to holding free elections in Korea. The film features footage of North Korean forces, supported by the Soviet Union, invading South Korea on June 25, 1950, the subsequent response by the United Nations, and the military campaign led by General Douglas MacArthur against both North Korean and later Chinese forces. The film was preserved in 2005 by the Academy Film Archive in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.
