Winter Solstice
Synopsis
When Elfrida Philips leaves London for a quiet country village, she quickly adjusts to her new surroundings. Though she is very poor, she manages with a small cottage, her four-legged companion Horace, and the support of friendly neighbors. Her newfound peace is disrupted by tragedy, prompting her to seek refuge in a sprawling house in Corrydale with a new gentleman friend. As the group settles in, the dynamics prove more complex than the sum of their mismatched parts. With the solstice passing and Christmas approaching, the healing power of love begins to take effect. (Filmed at Dunrobin Castle, Golspie, Sutherland)
