Synopsis

In 1645, England is in the midst of a brutal civil war between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians, a conflict that has plunged the country into chaos and undermined the rule of law. This disorder creates an environment in which unscrupulous individuals can exploit the gullibility and superstitions of the rural population. Among them is Matthew Hopkins, a man who presents himself as a witch hunter, traveling from village to village and profiting from the widespread fear and ignorance of the time.
