Synopsis

Woyzeck takes psychotropic drugs and subjects himself to physical punishment. He has no other option—it is how he earns a living. Through selling his body and working in a restaurant and in subway tunnels, he barely manages to survive. Returning home to his wife, Marie, and their infant child, he is an emotionally and physically broken man—completely unable to afford the earrings he discovers Marie wearing one day. She is unhappy, and the earrings are a gift from a local pimp. Woyzeck was not meant to find out, but he does. Troubled by voices, he loses what little hold he has on reality. He retreats with Marie and the baby into the tunnels, where Woyzeck believes he has control over life and death.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 17

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
