Zonder Zelda

Wander works as an engine operator on a cargo ship. During a coffee break, he watches a TV talk show where a woman appears, and he immediately recognizes her as Zelda, his childhood girlfriend from about 20 years earlier. At that time, Wander lived in a boarding school, and from his window, he could see the house across the river where Zelda lived. Zelda is a strikingly attractive young woman, though less pretentious than one might expect, which gives Wander an opportunity to connect with her. They enjoy a pleasant time together until one day, Wander discovers Zelda's father in the school kitchen engaged in an affair with the kitchen maid. The situation leads to complications for most of the characters, but the story concludes with an open ending.
