Glassriver partners with ZDF Studios for Áróra series

Icelandic production company Glassriver has joined forces with Network Movie, the television arm of ZDF Studios, to develop a new crime drama titled “Áróra.” The series will adapt Lilja Sigurðardóttir’s internationally bestselling “An Áróra Investigation” novels, covering five books that follow detective Áróra as she solves complex cases across Iceland.

Network Movie has secured options on all five titles—“Cold as Hell,” “Red as Blood,” “White as Snow,” “Dark as Night,” and “Deep as Death.” The collaboration aims to bring the gritty, character‑driven stories to a global audience through high‑quality production values and potential multi‑platform distribution.
