40 Glocc (born Lawrence Carl Demetrious White in Greenville, Texas, on December 16, 1979) is an American rapper who was raised in California's Inland Empire. He has collaborated with Jayo Felony, Kurupt, Dr. Dre, and Mobb Deep. His solo discography includes *The Jakal* (2003). At the age of 8, he moved to the projects in Colton, California, an area known as the "Zoo." Glocc credits the wisdom and resilience gained from growing up in the "Zoo" for the strength of his lyrical style. He discovered his talent for rapping at thirteen, influenced by artists such as Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and LL Cool J. In September 1997, 40 Glocc, along with K-9 and Natural Born, formed the Zoo Crew and released their debut album *Migrate, Adapt or Die*, produced by Tony and Julio G. The album became a major underground success, and 40 Glocc was recognized as one of the industry's best-kept secrets by established artists. These artists supported his next project, *The Jakal*, and in 2006, 40 Glocc released an album with the Hi-Power Soliderz crew.
