Biography

Alan Alexander Milne (18 January 1882 – 31 January 1956) was a British author known for his books featuring the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and for his children's poems. Before the widespread popularity of Pooh, Milne was recognized as a writer, mainly for his plays. He was typically credited under the name A. A. Milne.
