Ahmet Rifat Sungar

He was born on July 9 in Istanbul, Turkey. After graduating from Istanbul Conservatory, one of the top acting schools in Turkey, he began his career in *Three Monkeys* (2008), directed by Palme D'Or winner Nuri Bilge Ceylan. The film received the Best Directing Award at the Cannes Film Festival and brought international recognition to the young Turkish actor, who also won the "The Most Promising Actor" and "The Best Supporting Actor" awards. He continued his career by working with some of the most accomplished directors in Turkey and later appeared in international films, including *Le Chant Des Hommes* (2015), in which he performed in French. His films have been screened at major film festivals around the world, such as the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, and Slamdance Film Festival, among others. In 2018, *The Wild Pear Tree*, again directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, served as the closing film in the main selection of the Cannes Film Festival.
