Biography

Alice Maud Krige is a South African actress who gained prominence in the early 1980s. She made a significant impact with her role as the Gilbert and Sullivan singer Sybil Gordon in the 1981 British historical film *Chariots of Fire*, and also appeared in the American supernatural horror film *Ghost Story* as Eva Galli / Alma Mobley. Krige's stage work includes a Laurence Olivier Award-winning performance in the West End production of *Arms and the Man* (1981). She later became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, further establishing her reputation in classical theatre.
