Biography

Amrit Kaur is an actor and writer. After graduating from York University with a BFA in Acting in 2015, she has continued her training with coaches Michele Lonsdale-Smith and Stephen Park at the Lonsdale Smith Studio in Toronto. She is involved in creating and viewing art at the L.S. Studio, reads plays in her free time, volunteers with the South Asian Women’s Centre, plays the piano, and practices poi performance art. She is currently writing her first play, *Hummingbird*, under the mentorship of Marjorie Chan and through Cahoots Theatre’s TCR Hothouse Program. Among her favorite performances are Charlize Theron in *Monster*, Aamir Khan in *Lagaan*, and Cynthia Erivo as Celie in the Broadway production of *The Color Purple*. Kaur enjoys traveling and hopes to one day create and share passionate art with the artists she admires around the world.
