Biography

André Salas was a writer and filmmaker born in Brooklyn who worked in the New York City area. His first script, *Latin Boys Go To Hell*, based on his novel of the same name, became a feature film released by Strand Releasing that attracted audiences in the United States and Europe. He continued to write unconventional hybrids that referenced cult, erotic and horror cinema while challenging genre expectations. Salas made his directorial debut with the short film *Vampiras*, which screened in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival in 2007. He died suddenly in 2025, leaving a collection of unpublished scripts, including *Domhnall: A Young Man's Pleasures* and *Vampire in a Boys Dormitory*.
